Sweating and absorption of the medicinal liquid help relieve discomfort. Steam therapies are highly effective for treating common colds and complications like pneumonia. Two to three sessions are typically recommended for effective healing.

A treatment designed to relieve an illness or ailment that a person has suffered for a long time. Various ancestral medicine techniques are used according to the diagnosis made by the achimamas during an initial consultation. The treatment may include medicinal plant preparations, dietary changes, steam therapies, massages, and/or cauterizations.
